The Australian System Administrators' Conference 2006 Chifley on Northbourne, Canberra, ACT |
![]() |
As has become customary, the conference will have an wireless network and an ADSL connection (through Internode, and thanks to Andrew Whyte and Simon Attwell who are managing the technical side of deployment). The wireless network will support 802.11b/g devices, and uses WPA encryption with a password (not pre-shared key). This is natively supported under OS X, and Windows XP (SP2), and will work with Linux etc. People should arrange to have installed/patched to be able to support this. The actual wireless SSID and password details will be available from the registration desk at the conference, together with an AUP for network usage. The ADSL service is on a fixed IP address of 59.167.251.143 for those wanting to make firewall changes in advance for remote access. A terminal room with will also be available, with equipment supplied by Apple. |
