There is plenty of sunshine that makes surfing the most popular local sport with water tempartures around 19-21oC all year round. This climate is well suited to outdoor activities.Facilities The Gold Coast is a favourite tourist destination in Australia. It provides tourists with many beautiful beaches, a number of tourist attractions, and several large shopping centres. Within a few kms of Bond University are the shopping malls of Robina Town Centre, and Pacific Fair. The Gold Coast has a number of theme parks such as Seaworld, Movie World, Wet 'n Wild Water World, and Dreamworld all within 30 minutes drive from Bond University. A large number of environmental parks and attractions such as Currumbin Bird Sanctuary and Fleay's Fauna Park showcase Australian wildlife. Dining and Entertainment The Gold Coast has a large number of restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines. Many of its entertainment venues offer music, dancing and poker machines. At Broadbeach, Jupiters Casino features excellent dining houses as well as internationally recognised artists all year round. At the Oasis Mall Kokoz Nightclub is popular with the younger set.
