Mailing Lists

SAGE-AU hosts mailing lists with subjects ranging from the technical through to management topics through to SAGE-AU lounge - informal discussions about pretty much anything. The technical lists are particularly helpful, as members share their knowledge and experience.

Member discounts

Supporters provide discounts on products and services to SAGE-AU members. Members can access these great discounts by presenting your membership card.

Code of Ethics

One of the most important resources provided by SAGE-AU is a System Administrators' Code of Ethics. It helps member maintain a professional, ethical approach to their work, and is of great value to administrators and employers alike.

Conferences

The Australian System Administrators' Conference, held annually by SAGE-AU, is the premier conference for System Administrators in Australia. Details are available for previous conferences.

Member wiki

A member [Wiki] is available, containing archives of mailing lists, discussions regarding sysadmin issues and other items. This is under continual development by members.

Newsletter

SAGE-AU provides a newsletter, the SAGE Advice, to our members. These are a source of information regarding SAGE-AU activities including professional experiences shared by SAGE-AU members and system administration issues. You may also read the SAGE-Advice online with our newsletters archive.

As well as enjoying SAGE-AU newsletter you are most welcome to write and submit your article. A publication schedule is available.

IRC Channel

A constant, real time discussion/help line with immediate feedback is available on channel #sage-au on the IRC server irc.sage-au.org.au.

The IRC channel, while endorsed by SAGE-AU, is run separately to SAGE-AU. Due to the nature of live chats, SAGE-AU are not responsible for the conduct or discussions taking place within that forum.

Key Ring

SAGE-AU gives all of its members a SAGE-AU key ring which, if attached to your keys when lost, allows the finder to post the keys to us just by putting them in an Australia Post box. We will then return them safely to you at no cost.

Videos

SAGE-AU has [videos] of talks on-line which are able to be downloaded by members. A list of the currently available videos is available from here.
